So I made the Wife come with me to see Pacific Rim : Uprising (possibly of the Kittens) over the weekend. It was everything I wanted it to be. Loud, stupid, fun with quality Giant Fighting Robot! action. I rate it 7/10 Crushed Tokyos...

I was psyched to see it until I read a very specific spoiler that made me very angry and now I'll probably wait until it's up for rental.

Was it the bit with the thing where the thing happens to the person?

Well I can see how that would annoy you, yes. I'd still recommend seeing it on the big screen though, just for the scale of the giant stompy robots...

Ready Player One is a ton of good Spielburgy fun. A bit dopey on the plot side, but it is everything I hoped it would be, plus this huge The Shinning homage which was not from the book and totally worked.

I'll definitely be seeing this again!

That's the first real positive review of Ready Player One I've seen.

I rented The Disaster Artist recently. As a "fan" of The Room, I really enjoyed it. My wife, who hasn't seen The Room, had a harder time following it, and certainly didn't get all of the humor. I've read the book as well, and I don't think the movie captured Greg Sistero's voice as well as it could have. But it was fun seeing all the actors recreating the scenes from the original movie.

I wish they would have released a blu-ray set with both movies, for those that haven't seen The Room and want to suffer through it.

A box set of the two would be pretty amazing. Especially if they find a way to create shittier cover art than was on The Room's Blu-Ray release.

And yeah, The Room is pretty much required viewing for The Disaster Artist. James Franco does nail the Wiseau persona (Wiseauna?) so I can definitely see why he won the Golden Globe for it.

I do need to read the book sometime. It's hard to believe those two are still friends.

Really? Its getting pretty good word of mouth around here, and the Washington Post reviews were all positive.

76% fresh, 80% audience score. That's pretty good in anyone's book.
